No Cigar

What a weekend!

Everything has been moved out and cleaned from the old house. The car, of course, was quite a task… but I had a little help from my friends, and a big help from one of my coworkers, Kevin. He has been around the block picking up cars and having projects to work on. Nice big truck and a really nice car trailer, took four of us, but we got it loaded up and moved to Jill’s new place. She’s letting me keep it there while she’s living at her new place, I’m planning on having the subframe under it next time we move it, so fingers crossed I get all the information sorted out with what needs to be done. Pricing out the subframe from a Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R has proven to be the first hurdle, next will be the RB30 from a Holden Commodore VL, which unfortunately will have to be sent in from either Australia or New Zealand… it is proving to be the bigger hurdle.. I’m hoping to be able to afford the parts for my car from the part-time job with Plant Ops where I’ll be a Plant Operations Coordinator, as well as money from selling prints. My plan is to have that car moving on it’s own frame this year, and maybe, if I can find a way, to have the motor and transmission figured out in the Winter.. Time will tell.

Where is life right now, let’s think… I am working full-time at the Hospital as a Biomed Engineer Tech II, on contract, waiting to start a part time job with Plant Ops, mentioned above , as an employee of the hospital. My son is in California with his mom, haven’t seen him in almost two years. My daughter is going to turn 1 in 18 days. I have a son due in late June/early July. I am living in a townhouse trying to make things happen with my art and photography, making prints and doing commissions, though it seems my side work repairing electronics is more popular. Jill and I are trying to find a way back to civility, co-parents, friends, and if all that works, maybe trying again, the door isn’t closed on that, but it’s a ways down the road. I’m ok just trying to sort out my own life right now. I’ll turn 32 this year, crazy to think I never thought I’d make it past 26 or 27. I say that because I didn’t have a good gasp on my depression and anxiety in my early 20s, never thought I’d see past those years, just didn’t seem realistic with where my head was at in those days. I can’t say it’s always under control, my depression and anxiety, but I’m pretty resilient these days, have to be with everything life has thrown at us, me.

If anything this relationship ending and us moving has shown me, it’s really how isolated life has become, and who the friends are I do still have. A lot of them are the significant others of Jill’s friends, like Cory and Kevin, that have been there for me. Jill had a lot of help from her friends and mom when it came to getting things moved and cleaned, I was usually busy with work or just exhausted from work, so unfortunately a lot of it fell on Jill’s mom.. but I didn’t even have that. My dad came to help, while working graves, being over an hour away, he was my help, when he could, I didn’t have any friends that came to help, to hangout, to talk to, through any of this. It was mostly just me.. I don’t know, I guess I just thought going into my 30s I’d have more genuine friends around, the ones I could count on, the ones I’d been there for, but that’s not the case. Everyone goes their own ways, and as I admitted before I wasn’t always the best friend to have in one’s life, I miss them, but that’s life.

Later days.

Just a side note; here are pictures of the iPhone repair, turned out pretty well. Apparently I had a bad dream last night, this happens sometimes.

But I don’t wanna hear it
No, it’s more than I accept

’Cause I don’t care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
I will ignore

We will shut you out
We’ll put you in doubt
If you think that you’re special
We’ll tell you who you are
We’ll tell you that you’re close
But no cigar
