A Brief Overview
At first, it was a simple promise made to my mother as a child, when I grew up, I would go travel and see new places, send postcards, and take pictures. Over the years, I would attempt to make the adventures I would go on count, but the goal was always, ultimately, to go on a backpacking trip for a longer period of time. It eventually culminated into the dream of a two year adventure.
As life goes, time has a way of getting away from us, and this trip would be put on hold, and other things pursued. Unfortunately, my procrastinating would become a great regret.. My mother passed in November 27th, 2015, and with it, my dreams ended and my promise broken..
If it wasn't for a very special person, a friend that has never given up on me, and the countless people that have supported me in my decision to go on this adventure, it may never have come to fruition.. And now, a promise I made to my mother that became a dream for myself will be happening, November 2016, at the One Year Anniversary; in Memory of my Mother, as well as my brother, who died too young to really have lived a life of his own.
